Newspaper Pots
Millie shows an easy way to make your own planting pots from newspaper. Gardeners grow a lot of plants, and that usually means a lot of plastic pots, but recycler extraordinaire Millie Ross is aiming to change that with some alternative suggestions.
She shows how to make a simple paper plant pots for growing seedlings; the p[ots will only last for 4-6 weeks before they start breaking down so aren’t suitable for seeds that take a long time to germinate, but are great for fast-growing crops such as zucchini or pumpkin. The whole pot can be planted out in the garden when it’s ready, which means less transplant shock for the young plant.
Tickletank
Sophie revisits a truly original home carved out of a water tank, surrounded by an equally innovative garden. Irene Stone Pearce is a potter and sculptor who combined these passions to shape her home and garden.
