The Great Garden Revolution episode 4: In an episode dedicated to kitchen gardens and growing vegetables, herbs and fruit, the team come to the aid of two chefs in Wakefield who need a hand getting started at growing their own produce. Poppy Okotcha demonstrates which vegetables grow well in the same plots, Joel Bird plants a bee highway and creates a mushroom log, and Bruce Kenneth builds a bespoke greenhouse made from upcycled stained glass. Plus, comedian Tom Allen gives a tour of his own garden space. Last in the series.

A trio of three gardeners will take us by our grubby, soil-covered hands in a new series aimed at building upon a new-found love of our outdoor spaces.

The last long, tedious year sent just about anyone lucky enough to have a garden out into the fresh air to get to work. In The Great Garden Revolution designer Joel Bird, ecological gardener Poppy Okotcha and craftsman Bruce Kenneth will tackle a different project each week to help us broaden our imaginations.

People around the country transform outdoor spaces with the help of designer Joel Bird, ecological gardener Poppy Okotcha and craftsman Bruce Kenneth. The first episode features tips on creating gardens for the whole family to enjoy, as the team make a barrel pond, a forest garden, a social hub with a barbecue and seating area, and a beautifully crafted chair. They also pay a visit to a family of five adults in London, and offer tips on making the best use of their space.

The Great Garden Revolution is hosted by the show’s experts – designer Joel Bird, ecological gardener Poppy Okotcha and craftsman Bruce Kenneth.

Artist and designer Bird has appeared on BBC Two’s Your Garden Made Perfect, Gardeners’ World and Channel 4’s Amazon Spaces, while Okotcha is a horticulturalist currently creating her own edible and medicinal garden and a regular contributor to Gardener’s World.

The Great Garden Revolution is Channel 4’s brand new garden make-over show, where a team of experts find a backyards all over the UK and turn them into plant paradises.

Each episode will see the Great Garden team – designer Joel Bird, ecological gardener Poppy Okotcha and craftsman Bruce Kenneth – transform a different garden, during which they’ll give viewers tips and ideas on how they can work on their own patches.

There’ll also be a celebrity guest dropping by each week to show off their own garden and “demonstrate their bespoke hacks”.
