The A-Z of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

The A-Z of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Back for its 105th year, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018 promises to be bigger and bolder than ever. This programme is an entertaining and affectionate romp through its history to discover the people, plants and designs that have made it the greatest flower show on earth.

From its legendary designers to the judges, Chelsea Pensioners to the Queen, nurseries to veg growers, this is the definitive guide to the great event that heralds the start of the British summer.

Taking us on this voyage of floral discovery are Jennifer Saunders and seven-time gold medal-winning designer and Gardeners World presenter Adam Frost, who imparts his knowledge.

The A-Z of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

With the alphabet as their guide, Jennifer and Adam step back in time to guide us through the highlights of over 100 years of Chelsea magic, each letter representing a significant element of this British institution. No stone is left unturned as they reveal everything you ever wanted to know about Chelsea.

We also reunite with the most influential Chelsea designers, including a special profile of Sarah Eberle, Chelsea’s most prolific gold medallist, to share their memories of winning big at the show and look back at some of the game-changing creations that transformed the event into the world leader it is today.

Away from the showground, Gardeners World presenters Arit Anderson and Frances Tophill travel across the UK to meet nursery folk as they prepare to exhibit in the Great Pavilion and uncover the secrets behind their successes at the show. And we discover how Chelsea tendrils grow global, following Chelsea first timer Jonathan Snow as he travels to Italy to source plants for his South African-inspired design!

Jennifer and Adam don their high vis and steel toe caps as they meet the RHS team, designers and landscapers to experience the enormous effort required to get the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea show ready for 21 May. They also exclusively reveal some of the exciting exhibits and gardens we can look forward to seeing at the event this year.
