Celebrity MasterChef UK 2022 episode 10

Celebrity MasterChef UK 2022 episode 10: The celebrities in the fourth and final week of heats are TV presenter and actor Adam Pearson, professional dancer Katya Jones, British drag performer Kitty Scott-Claus, TV and radio presenter Lisa Snowdon and actor Ryan Thomas.

The first challenge the five hopefuls face is Under the Cloche. In front of each celebrity is a cloche, underneath which is an ingredient. Each celebrity has a different ingredient and must create one dish showcasing that ingredient to demonstrate their potential to the judges. With nerves running high and just over an hour to create their dish from scratch, the celebrities must think on their feet to impress the judges.

Next is the Street Food Challenge. The celebrities are presented with a street food dish that is popular throughout Mexico, and they must taste it and try to identify the ingredients that are in it. Then, following not a recipe but their instincts, they must cook this classic national dish themselves. Will their attempts impress, or will they fall short of the mark?

Then, in the final test of culinary creativity, the contestants are asked to prepare their Dinner Party Dish – something they would cook to impress if someone was coming round to eat. At the end of this test, one of them will be sent home. Who can handle the pressure and show the judges they have the skills, creativity and flair to progress further in the competition?

Over six weeks, John Torode and Gregg Wallace are putting their taste buds through a sensory assault course, discovering which celebrities have the palate and skill to chop, slice and sizzle their way to lifting the iconic Celebrity MasterChef trophy.

Celebrity MasterChef was devised as a celebrity version of MasterChef Goes Large. The show was screened on BBC One from 2006 to 2011. Originally, 24 celebrities participated in each series with three contestants per episode following the full MasterChef Goes Large test.

In 2011, the programme was moved to a daily daytime slot with 30 episodes screened over six weeks and with only 16 celebrities. Catch-up shows were broadcast on Fridays at 20:30 (30 minutes) and on Saturdays at various times (60 minutes). In 2012, the show moved to BBC Two due to low ratings and returned to an evening 18:30 slot. In 2013, it moved back to BBC One prime time, shown at 20:00. Since 2014, the show has had 20 celebrities competing for the title.
