MasterChef episode 14 2022 – UK

MasterChef episode 14 2022 – UK: This week’s seven best home cooks return to test their culinary wits and try to prove to judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace that they have the potential to be MasterChef champion 2022. Tonight’s challenges are designed to gauge their creativity and culinary repertoire. The first is the Market Challenge, where they must invent a dish on the spot for judges John and Gregg from a market full of ingredients including Bavette steak, plaice and oysters. The pressure is on to impress because at the end of this test one contestant will be sent home.

The remaining six then take on their most demanding assignment so far – cooking a dish to a brief set by one of the country’s toughest food critics, William Sitwell. William has asked them to cook a dish inspired by a favourite ready-bought food item – sweet or savoury. The four who produce the best dishes will go through to this week’s quarter-final. Who can handle the pressure and show they have what it takes to progress further in the competition?

MasterChef is a competitive cooking show television format created by Franc Roddam, which originated with the UK version in July 1990. The format was revived and updated for the BBC in February 2005 by executive producers Roddam and John Silver with series producer Karen Ross. The revived format is sold internationally by Banijay. Its first international adaptation was MasterChef Australia, which began in 2009, and then the adaptation was executed within several other countries of the world.

The show’s format has been exported around the world under the same MasterChef logo, and is now produced in more than 40 countries and airs in over 200 territories. The format has appeared most often in four major versions: the main MasterChef series, MasterChef: The Professionals for professional working chefs, Celebrity MasterChef featuring well known celebrities as the contestants and Junior MasterChef, a version created and adapted for children, which was first developed in 1994 and has also expanded to other countries in recent years.

Despite the four major versions, in 2012, Australia created the fifth version called MasterChef All-Stars, for former contestants to raise money for charity. In 2018, Ukraine created MasterChef Teens, for teenage contestants. Brazil created MasterChef: Para Tudo (MasterChef: Stop Everything), a TV show featuring interviews with judges and former contestants, plus recipes and memes, presented by Ana Paula Padrão.

Each series is broadcast on five nights a week for eight weeks. During the first six weeks, the first four episodes of each week are heats and the fifth episode is a quarter-final. Six contestants enter each heat and the winner becomes a quarter-finalist. At the end of each week, the four quarter-finalists compete and a semi-finalist is chosen. After six weeks, the six semi-finalists compete in the final two weeks.

In 2010, the judges were given more flexibility, allowing them to advance more than one contestant to the quarter-finals or, in one instance, none at all. Series 7 of Master Chef had auditions with a format similar to The X Factor, in which hopeful chefs cooked in front of the judges to secure a spot in the competition. More than 20,000 people applied to audition for the series.
