In this MasterChef episode 7, six more professional chefs from across the UK set out to prove they can become the culinary star of this year’s competition. Starting their fight for the coveted title, the chefs face the infamous skills test. This is a chance for Monica, Marcus and Gregg to size up their skills and ability under pressure.
MasterChef episode 7 – The Professionals 2018
The first three chefs face a pasta test set by Monica. They have 20 minutes to roll, fill and shape a dish of agnolotti pasta. Monica demonstrates the perfect way to cook, chill and pipe the creamy bechamel filling and produce a faultless plate of pasta. This dextrous task will reveal to the judges which chefs have the palate and skill to take them further in the competition.
Marcus sets a task for the next three chefs that could catch them off guard; he would like them to make a chicken, bacon and mayonnaise sandwich. The simplicity of this dish belies the depth of skill that will be on display from the chefs. The judges will be keenly watching as the chefs butcher and cook the chicken before making the best mayonnaise of their careers and assembling a sandwich worthy of the judges.
All six chefs are invited back into the MasterChef kitchen for the next round in a bid to impress the judges with their signature dish. They now have a chance to redeem any earlier mistakes and cook a tried-and-tested dish of their choice for Monica, Marcus and Gregg. In an hour and 15 minutes, they need to show off their culinary talent before the judges decide which three are sent home, and which three go through to the quarter final.
