Aunty Fran

Costa is at Mt Annan Botanic Gardens to meet with Aunty Fran, a D’harawal educator, botanist and environmental scientists. Costa visited the Australian Botanic Garden at Mount Annan in Sydney’s south-western outskirts to meet D’harawal Elder, Aunty Fran.

Francis Bodkin is an environmental scientist, botanist, climatologist and author. She’s also an Education Officer at the Mt Annan branch of the Gardens. She spent the day showing Costa how to learn from the plants and animals in the bush.

Bush Foods

Tino gets help from a local expert to add some native edible plants to The Patch. Vegetables like broccoli and cabbages have been cultivated for thousands of years in gardens all over the world and we’re very familiar with them. Today, Tino is going to shake things up a bit by adding some Australian native food plants in with the usual vegies at The Patch. Bush foods expert Kris Schaffer has come along to give Tino a hand.

Millie meets up with artist Cassie Leatham to learn how she uses indigenous plants in her culturally rich creations.
